Why are the old not teaching the young?
My 12 yr. old son was part of a 4-H club this summer. In August they presented the items they made at the Clackamas County Fair. My son had a wonderful time walking the grounds. Today he came to me and said, Mom you HAVE to read this article out of the Newspaper! As I read it informed me that the craft area of the fair was dwindling. Only the elderly were presenting "handmade" items. The young people of the fair, said that there was nobody to teach them "longer" crafts anymore , such as sewing, crocheting, and food entries . The article stated that in a day an age of 30 minute meals, some of the craft areas will have to be deleted. The fair started in 1906, with quilts and crochet items being showcased. Lets not forget ladies, the wonderful tradition of making beautiful things with our own hands! Teach your children these things, and offer a teaching hand in your church. God Bless your comings and goings! |

How I met Jane
I was completely unfamiliar with Jane Austen until the movie Pride and Prejudice came out, with Kiera Knightly.Since then I have been absolutely hooked! Three evenings ago I was able to watch Sense and Sensibility, with Kate Winslet. I am an avid reader, yet I have not yet read any of Austen's novels. My intent is to do so, one at a time.
I Apologize....
| I would just like to make a note here, that I am an affiliate with all posters. Somehow they are able to put their " sales" on my blog without my permission. I am trying to figure out how to put an end to that, so please bear with me, and excuse anything unholy that you might see there. I am working diligently to fix this. Thank you, Mrs. Lijewski |

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord....
Psalm 100:1-5 1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. |
